Please find below information regarding next week here at St. Boniface's College. I have included reports from some recent sporting activities involving students from the College.
Key Stage 4, Years 10 and 11, Information Advice and Guidance, IAG, and Awards Evening in the school hall 6 till 7.30 ish. All key stage 4 students and their parents are welcome to attend not simply those receiving awards.
Year 11 English Language results are due in school on Thursday 7th March. Unfortunately the examination boards will not be giving out grades - simply scores. This means that the Year 11 students will not actually know what grades they have achieved, merely a score. The English department will then sit down and use last year's grade boundaries to determine a LIKELY grade. Any students at risk of not gaining a C grade will then have a meeting with the department to propose a way forward ready for a probable re-entry in May/June.
The College is in the process of updating and improving it's website, as such could all those who use the website please be patient as a "holding page" is currently in place.
The year 8 football team played a league fixture against
Lipson losing 5-3. It was an quiet first half display by the boys who struggle
to cope with Lipson’s midfield. Lipson took the lead three times in the first
half with Stone and Morgan pulling back the deficit to make it 3-2 at
half time. The boys' produced a better second half and kept possession for
large parts of the game. Stand out performances were made by Gregory and
Yearling who topped off a good performance with a fantastic goal. Lipson
eventually ran out 5-3 winners. Next game Tavistock away.
6th form football team kick off their season in style!!!
After many postponed matches due to the weather, the 6th
form team played their first match since November on Wednesday. Without a win all season and sitting at the
foot of the table Bonnies were hoping to take something from this 6 pointer
(home and away fixture all rolled into one).
Midway through the second half, with the scores even at 3-3, the ref
informed Mr Mather that the game was also a cup tie and there would be 30
minutes extra time.
With the game looking like going into extra time,
Bance scored in the 93rd minute after a goal mouth scramble to take Bonnies off
the foot of the table AND go through to the next round of the cup; nothing for
5 months then 3 wins in one day!
On the Horizon
Tuesday March 12th from about 3.30 until 6pm has been set aside for parents who would like to speak with individual subject teachers after the recent Mentoring Day.
In a fortnight's time all of Year 11 will be sitting a full GCSE Maths mock examination in the school hall.

Direct our hearts to you, Lord, so that we may follow you
more closely this Lent and all the days of our life; in all our needs we turn
to you for the help of your grace, and ask you to give us strength to work for
the things we ask for in faith, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
